When you exfoliate, you remove your dead skin using a product designed for the purpose, i.e. an exfoliant. Your skin builds up dead cells as you go through your daily lives that need to be cleaned. Your skin health will increase as will the overall appearance because exfoliation can multiply collagen in the skin. When exfoliating, be sure to use products like face moisturisers for the properly designated areas.
1. Purchase an exfoliant
Purchase products like face scrubs, masks or serums that are well-suited for your skin type. Test out products on a patch of skin beforehand to prevent skin damage. A general rule is to purchase products that have enzymes in them. Reveal is an exfoliating serum that is suitable for most skin types and will help skin health exponentially. Use a single exfoliant product because experimenting with an array of exfoliants may irritate and damage the skin. You may switch out exfoliants after a period of time. For instance, if acne-prone skin has improved and is drying, it might be time to switch to less drying exfoliating products.
2. Exfoliate your face
Facial exfoliants can be in the form of chemical and physical exfoliants or even masks. For each, you must begin with a uniform step – wash your face with a cleanser. Physical exfoliants are often in the form of scrubs. You should apply a small amount of the face scrub onto your face using circular movements and then rinse off after a thirty-second facial scrub massage. You can use chemical exfoliants like gels, serums or even cloth-based, pre-prepared exfoliant products. These are not usually rinsed off, but face masks are to be rinsed off after the application period has ended. You should use hydrating products like serums or creams after any form of exfoliation. To exfoliate your body, you can use exfoliating body washes and loofahs to scrape off dead skin, and then rinse it off in a hot shower. Foot scrubs can be similarly used to exfoliate your feet.
3. Moisturise
You must always remember to moisturise afterwards because the exfoliation process can dry out your skin. If you have dry skin or face dry weather, reduce your exfoliation processes accordingly. You can use gentle exfoliants and be sure to moisturize vigorously.
B-juvinate is an effective body lotion that can be used for all skin types and moisturises effectively.
4. Create an exfoliating schedule
Your skin needs you to regularly commit to exfoliation. If you have acne-prone skin or clogged pores, exfoliation will do a world of wonders for you. Exfoliating at regular intervals throughout the week can help reduce oil, open up pores and prevent acne.
5. Be mindful of your skin
If your skin faces dryness, sensitivity or acne, use milder forms of chemical-based exfoliants. Oily skin requires stronger exfoliants to unclog pores more effectively. You should consult with a dermatologist about exfoliation if you have skin damage such as burns, dark spots, or acne. Exfoliation may damage these areas and create dark spots, especially if you have a darker skin tone.
